Surfing in Sodwana Bay
The surfing in Sodwana Bay from just south of Jesser point to nine mile can be inconsistent, but when there is a good swell running and the appropriate wind, the surf can be as good as any on the planet.
Both left’s and right's, forming over reefs and sand bars can wall up and get very powerful for the more advanced surfer.
The bay is also perfect for learning and beginners to enjoy a mid break and shore break .
Sodwana Bay works best on a two to six foot swell with no wind or a westerly wind blowing. The water temperature averages at twenty-four degrees Celsius and most of the year it is clean enough to let surfers see where the reef and rocks are situated.
All in all Sodwana Bay has fun waves to learn on and also challenges to overcome for more experienced wave seekers.
